Most Read Authors – Top 5 Tuesday

(credit for the photo)

Hello, everyone! I know that you’re already fed up with my posts today, but I saw this one and I couldn’t resist the chance. The Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah and I think it’s a great idea and the topics are really interesting.

Now, I’m really curious to see what this top is made of, I haven’t checked it in a while and I want to see if it has changed a lot since last time.

My Top 5 Most Read Authors:

  1. Krista and Becca Ritchie – 13 books

I could say I’m surprised, but I’m not, not at all. I really love the Ritchie twins. I’m not a huge fan of the New Adult genre, but their books make me really happy and hopeful that the genre might grow into something better because the twins really touch on important subjects like depression, addictions, toxic relationships, sexuality and I could go on and on.

2. Colleen Hoover – 12 books

I’m going to anger my 2014-me very much, but I don’t think I like Colleen Hoover’s books that much anymore. When I was just getting into reading, they were really great, light reads, but now I’ve been disappointed by anything I read from her. I rated Confess one star, Too Late – one star, Ugly Love – two stars, Maybe Someday – three stars. I feel like she’s not a favourite author of mine anymore, but I might continue to read her books out of curiosity and out of hope that she will write more books like It Ends with Us.

3. J.K. Rowling – 11 books

I think I’ve mentioned this a few times already, but I haven’t read the Harry Potter series in my childhood, I’ve read them only recently. I adored them nonetheless. But sometimes I wonder why I didn’t give in to the hype and start reading them sooner. I was a very stubborn teenager who didn’t believe the hype surrounding it to be true. Now I regret not listening to every damn living person. But I’ve come to my senses and J.K.Rowling is one of my most read authors and one of my favourites too!

4. Rick Riordan – 10 books

Papa Rick!!! You have no idea how much love I have in my life for Rick Riordan’s books. I’ve read the entire Percy Jackson series in one summer and it was one of the best summers because of that. I’m grateful for Riordan and for those characters that he created because they had a huge impact on me. I adore Annabeth and Percy so much and now I’m making my way through the Heroes of Olympus series and falling in love with new characters once again, learning about how to be brave and smart and just whatever you want.

5. Richelle Mead – 8 books

As a fifteen years old, I worshipped this book series because of the strong friendship between Rose and Lissa and because of how badass Rose was. That was mainly caused by the fact that the books I had to read for school were full of misogyny and weak female characters. And this series was a breath of a fresh air. It was one of the series that got me hooked up on reading. But I don’t know how I would react to a reread. I’m also a bit hesitant towards reading Mead’s new books because they never seem to be something I’d like.

So, this is my list, but what are your most read authors? And what do you think about the authors I listed. Tell me in the comments!

Love your list! So many people have Rick Riordan on their list and I have to admit that I’m feeling SO guilty that I haven’t read one of his books yet! I will soon! I hope lol

I’m still stuck in Hot House Flower. Not really sure when I’m getting back to it. I’m tempted to start ADDICTED AFTER ALL, but I’ve heard that I can’t miss the novellas. πŸ˜†

Top 5 tuesday? When did this happen, I might have to get involved with that! Anyway, I’ll have to try some Krista and Becca Ritchie books, it looks like I’ll have a lot to choose from anyway so that’s good, I’ve never heard of them before so thanks for the recommendation! I’ve read a few of colleen hoovers old books and enjoyed them but I’ve not gotten around to any of her more recent stuff, sorry to hear you don’t enjoy them as much πŸ’•

Totally get involved with it, Kirsty! I’d love to see your list! I really hope you’ll enjoy their books once you get to them! Hahaha, their books are focused on ‘one big family’, I don’t know how else to explain it. There’s a reading order on goodreads, so definitely check it out! I used to enjoy them a lot too, but now they kind of feel repetitive to me plot-wise.

Collen Hoover is also one of my most read authors. I’m sorry, though, that you don’t like her as much as you did. I hope you don’t completely give up on her. I actually just finished her latest new book Without Merit. It was amazing. 😍 This may be biased, but maybe you want to give it a try. I haven’t read any of the Ritchie twins’ books. By after reading your explanation, now I’m intrigued. I shall check them out after this. πŸ˜€
