Am I Naught or Nice? || The Bookish Naughty List

Hey, everyone! I was tagged for this one by Lara @Words with Lara, if you don’t know her blog, please check it out, Lara is such a cool person and she has an incredible voice when it comes to blogging (her posts are very nice!).

I’m a bit worried about the result of this little game. But let’s see whether I was naughty or nice when it comes to bookish stuff!

27

1. Have you received an ARC and not reviewed it?

Well, yes, but in my defense, I’ve only received them three days ago, so I’m not sure if this one counts. But let’s say it does since I have some e-ARCs that I haven’t gotten to in a long time.

2. Do you have less than 60% feedback rating on NetGalley?

I actually have exactly 60% feedback rating on Netgalley, this one was really close. Phew.

3. Have you rated a book on goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never followed through)

Nope. I have some books that I promise to review on Goodreads and never do it again, but I rarely say I’ll review a book on my blog and don’t follow.

4. Have you folded down the page of a book?

NOOOOO. Look, I care so much about my books. I’d never do that. And if you do that, why are you hurting those precious books?

5. Have you accidentally spilled something on a book?

I don’t remember doing it, nope. I’m usually very careful with my books.

6. Did you DNF a book this year?

Not as far as I remember, nope. I do have some books that are on hold, though.

7. Have you bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it?

No, I don’t really have enough money to waste on books I wouldn’t read. I usually buy books that I know I’m going to enjoy and not purely because of their covers. Though, it doesn’t hurt if the book is cool and also has a gorgeous cover. #justsaying

8. Have you read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Me? Never.  I do it all the time. And ever since making a blog, it’s been even worse. I don’t know how I’ll manage to focus in January when I have my final exams.

9. Have you skim read a book?

Not this year. But I do this sometimes when I hate the book I’m reading and I’ve also reached a point where it would be too annoying to completely DNF the book.

10. Will you completely miss your Goodreads goal?

I already completed my Goodreads challenge and also surpassed it. My goal was to read 80 books and I’ve managed to read 86 books so far.

11. Have you borrowed a book and not returned it?

Not happening. But once I was very late (one month) and the librarian called me about it. I felt pretty bad about it, but I had a good reason for it (exams).

12. Have you broken a book buying ban?

I hate to say it because it’s not very relatable. But I usually have good control over my buying because my parents are actually the ones that buy me those books, so I can’t afford to buy as many as I’d like because they probably want to do something else with their money besides buying me books all the time. (Though I wouldn’t mind)

13. Have you started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about?

On Goodreads, yes, probably!

14. Have you written in a book you were reading?

Nope. I love my books to be all clean. I only write on textbooks, commentaries like “wtf?”/ “is it for real”/ “that’s so sexist” and so on. You’d love to read my commentaries on that textbook of Psychology of Development.

15. Have you finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads?

Nope. That’s what I use Goodreads for – counting the books I’ve read.

Naughty or Nice?

I have only 3/15, so I guess this means I’m mostly nice??? Awww, that’s good to know. But I suppose I’m just careful with my books, mostly. Anyway, I really loved this tag and I’m going to tag some people. hopefully they will have as much fun as I did :

This is a great tag and also SAME about reading when you should do something else! My exams are in February and I planned on studying a lot during my winter break, but now that the break started all I want to do is read and plan cool things for my blog lmao 😂💕

SAME, Hannah! Mines are in January/February and I planned everything (from revision to things I should be studying) and I have done absolutely nothing. I should really start doing that because I’ll soon start to feel guilty about it. But reading and blogging is so much more important, eh…<3

Ahahah what a great tag, I love it so much! 🙂 I never spilled something on a book, either, I’m usually very careful with my books, or at least I try, I love them like my babies hahaha 😛 Also, I’m glad you said you have control over yor book-buying – usually, I do, too. I try to be reasonnable and read everything I have before getting new books, otherwise I just feel guilty hahaha. 🙂
Hope you will have a lovely Christmas!! x

I KNOOOW, I’m such a mommy when it comes to my books. I’ve been known to shelter them from relatives (that are absolutely pagans and don’t worship my books). It hurts me not to read my books (especially the physical ones), for example, I haven’t read Crooked Kingdom and Warcross yet even though I own them since September and I feel kind of guilty… 😦
Thank youuu, Marie!!! Merry Christmas to you too!

Hahaha well, we’re twins when it comes to our books, then 😛 I’m always protecting them like crazy hahaha 😛
OHH you should read Warcross soon – it is SUCH A GREAT BOOK, I loved it so much! 😀

I’ll check this out right now, hahaha, I’m so nice it gets boring, don’t worry, you don’t want to be like me! Right? It would be scandalous and traitorous for any of us to get a nice on that question. It’s out of question! ❤

Oh wow, you really were nice! The nicest I’ve seen of people doing this tag so far 😛 I’m like you in that I have good control over how many books I buy because I don’t have that much money to spend on books. And if I’m going to buy a physical book, it’s usually because I like the cover AND it sounds like something I’ll really like! And I think I would like to read your notes in your psych textbook, they sound great lol.

      *gasps*
can you believe I was this nice and still haven’t gotten any book for Christmas? 😦 Yeah, me neither. Indeed, that’s the only instance. I really hate when I love a book so much and I’ve read it from the library and I get this craving to own it, but then I think about how I might never read it again and I would buy it for nothing, but still… It’s all so bad for us, bookworms that don’t have all that much money.
Hahaha, there’s a page filled with ‘WTF’ because of things like ‘the memory of the uterus’, which is apparently what happens after a woman miscarriages or has an abortion and her uterus remembers the dead baby and the next baby she might have will always live in the world with a feeling of loss. I literary wanted to throw that book out the window because besides being so misogynistic, it was pretty dumb too.

Ok, wait. This was in a *psychology* textbook??? The uterus having memory and filling the next child with feelings of loss? Yeah, that sure sounds like real science -_- What prof would even use this book??? I’d probably write WTF all over the page too just to be able to deal with reading that and not throwing the book into a fire lol.

YES, it was in a psychology textbook and I was terrified (I’m even more terrified how some of my collegues don’t see anything ‘that’ wrong with this). Well, it was actually her book. I can’t see anybody else ever using that damn book as it’s full of such pseudo-scientifically things. There are also so many outdated things about women and equality and POCs and I’m so horrified that I have to read the other half of this book in January for my exam. -.-

3 out of 15 is pretty good, I also just posted this tag and I got 7 out of 15 … I think it means I’m barely holding my place on the nice list xD I have also only written on textbooks or even novels that I analyse on class. But I gotta admit that I might have folded a page of a book once, because I forgot to take a bookmark with me and didn’t have anything else to use (it was a book I had to take with me to class).

Hahaha, you naughty little bookworm! ❤ I'm going to head on your blog right now to read your post, I'm curious how it came to this :P.
I use random things for bookmarks, but I try not to fold them because I'm too much of a freak when it comes to folded pages, hahaha! But I can understand it and forgive it. ❤

Well, now you know! haha Guilty 😛
I understand, I used to be like that too, but now I don’t really mind writing on them and folding the pages. Never happened to a book besides the ones I have to read for classes, but that’s more because I don’t want to stop my reading to write something down rather than because I hate annotated books. :/

(oh look it me!! you tagged meeee!! THAT’S SO SWEET AND AMAZING AND THANK YOUU!!)

You can’t review ARCs if you don’t get any HA! I am wayyy ahead of ya’ll on that! Also my Netgalley feedback is GREAT because I’ve never review or requested anything ever! …Ignore me crying in the corner.
Ah yess people that buy books only for the cover….meanwhile I’m over here mumbling about not having my own money (I relate so bad! My parents buy me books too and I feel bad making them sped all that money), books being expensive and horrible shipping fees. So that makes me great at book buying bans too (since I’m always on a ban kinda). WOW LOOK AT US ACING THIS NO WONDER WE’RE SO NICE.
And wait psychology textbooks being sexist? But but but…that’s…so bad and horrible?? If students that later on go to become doctors get thought sexist things that that can be so harmful ugHHHhh. (Ok you can write all over those you’re doing a great job over there)

(Hope you have fun, Ioanaaa!!! Mention me when you do it!)
You’re living in 2040 while we’re still in 2017 (ily and I know you will get ARCs soon, I believe in you!!)
I know, I usually only buy books when I get money for my birthday or things like that. I could use my scholarship money, but I just want to keep it in the bank account until I graduate.
I knooow, it’s so bad, sometimes I feel like some courses are a joke. But thankfully, there are some young teachers that aren’t ignorant and know about racism, misogyny and other issues.
