Most Anticipated Books of 2019

booksp019.png

Hello, lovelies! I’m back with a post where I tell you about my most anticipated books, I’ll organize them on months exactly like I’ve done last year. I hope I’ll help you find some new books to add on your TBR pile as well and maybe you’ll suggest some that aren’t on this list to me as well!

I hope you had a great beginning of the year! Was I the only one surprised by the color of the Goodreads challenge? Because I surely didn’t expect it to be that dark purple, almost black, but it looks quite interesting, to be honest. I pledged to read 50 books because I want to be relaxed and complete it quite easily. Let me know in the comments how many books you want to read this year!

Now let’s get right into the post!

January

40110936#1. An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen

This one sounds amazing, I’m interested in it because of the psychological aspects. A psychology study is conducted, things get a bit personal as in the questions are getting more and more intense. And yeah, that’s all I know about it. It’s also a thriller, one of the writers is the author of The Wife Between Us, which has been greatly praised all around.

Quite interested in this one!

#2. Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus

I really enjoyed One Of Us Is Lying, this one sounds quite similar to its predecessor. I’m curious about the differences between the two, I hope it’s not going to be repetitive or have similar tropes. I love those covers, they give you that thriller/mystery vibe.

If you read this one, let me know what were your thoughts on it because I’m a bit hesitant. I have high expectations and I don’t want to be disappointed.

40240290#3. The Cold in Her Bones by Peternelle van Arsdale

I have an e-ARC of this one, which I hope to read soon because this is a book that focuses on demons. It sounds very scary, atmospheric and interesting, I’m a huge fan of Supernatural and if you watched it, you might understand why I was intrigued by this book. I just hope the execution will be as good as the idea!

#4. Famous in a Small Town by Emma Mills

I’m so sad that I will probably not get an ARC of this one anytime soon. It sounds sweet and fluffy, with amazing friendships and a soft romance that I’m totally here for!

The people who got a review copy gave it very positive ratings and some of them even said that it’s their favorite Mills’ book. I just can’t imagine something being better than Foolish Hearts, but well, I’m ready to be surprised.

A few other books that are coming up in January and that I’m excited about, but have only a vague idea what’s going on regarding to the plot or whatever. So, I’m just going to put them down below.

35068618#1. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

To be honest, as soon as it was announced that Angie Thomas is writing another book, I was ready for it. I couldn’t even care what it was about. Because I’d read anything written by her.

However, I think it’s about a girl who’s a rapper, it’s focused on fighting for your dreams and it sounds very important and inspirational. I’m here for it!

#2. Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

I love this new trend with vikings in young adult literature, I love reading about that period and I’m curious about this book. I’ve never read a book by Tricia Levenseller before, but everybody has been raving about her previous books.

I hope I will get to it in 2019 because it sounds good and I love this cover as well!

36613718.jpg#3. Enchantée by Gita Trelease

I’ve got an e-ARC of this one, but since receiving it, I’ve read some reviews from people who have already read it and I’m a bit hesitant. I hope I will like it. The primary reason for requesting it was that I don’t know a lot about the Marie Antoinette period, but I’m interested in it, I want to know more and this book felt like a great star. Now, we’ll see how good it is!

Some more that I’m interested in:

March

39897058#1. The Fever King by Victoria Lee

The main character is a technopath, we have viral magic, I just love this book. I don’t think I can wait until March. It sounds soooooooo good. There also seems to be a lot of political intrigue in this one, which you all know I’m a sucker for!

I’m predicting that this one will be a five star for me!

#2. Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds

Jack Ellison King. King of Almost. He almost made valedictorian. He almost made varsity. He almost got the girl . . .

This already sounds like something I’d love and also very #relatable, Jack. I think this book has some parallel worlds, their relationship getting a second chance? It sounds just precious! Give me this now!!!

#3. Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I’m completely in love with Reid, which is why I’m expecting to love this one as much as I loved her other books. I’ve heard that it has an unique format, it’s told through interviews and articles. I usually love this kind of books because they are fast-paced and cool, but it can have some disadvantages like the development of the characters having to suffer a lot.

I hope it’s going to be a five star read!!!

Some more books that Twitter made me want to check:

April

#1. Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

I’m on the blog tour for this one and I’m very excited. I’ve read the first line and I got all intrigued and frustrated that I couldn’t continue to read. The gang reminds me a lot of Six of Crows and I just love everything about this book from the cover to the blurb to the title.

I NEED TO READ IT NOW. I just need some time.

36146624.jpg#2. You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn

Country music. Tour. Fans wanting two band-mates together because they are too adorable and have lots of tension. I’m here for it, I just hope the love interest isn’t going to be annoying since he’s a bad boy or whatever. I also have an e-ARC for this one and will probably read it soon. Hopefully before my exams, but I’m not sure.

#3. Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett

This cover looks so cozy and since I’ve heard that the female character has been home-schooled and she has a crazy imagination, I was there like “okaaay, I need this!”.

I love the cover, it’s so sweet and the romance sounds very light and fast-paced. I’ve always wanted to read something by Bennett for quite a while. Maybe I’ll start with this one.

Some more books that I think I’ll love:

May

There are too many books that I’m interested in that are being released in May, so I’m just going to add some covers here without saying anything.

Summer 2019

And I think that’s it for now! There are other releases that I’ll probably end up reading even though they aren’t on this list. I know that I’ve read 15 books out of my most anticipated books of 2018, I think the number is quite good. And it means that I’ll probably read lots of books off this list as well!

What are some of your most anticipated releases of 2019?

Any book that’s not on my list that you think I might enjoy?

Great minds think alike, I suppose, hahaha! ❤
It's weird, but last year I've read 15 books out of my most anticipated releases list, which I think was quite great! Probably the only somewhat-tbr list that I kept to.

I’m also looking forward to Two Can Keep A Secret and On the Come Up. The others on my list are King of Scars, The Wicked King, and Chain of Gold. 😍 The books in the April anticipated releases list have really cute and pretty covers. I might check them out! 🤓 I didn’t know Jenn Bennet is going to release a new book. 😶 Now, I’m excited. 😃

Ohhhh, I wish I could read King of Scars, but I have only read Shadow and Bone & Six of Crows, which makes my knowledge of Grishaverse insufficient 😦
Yes, she’s going to release a new book and it sounds very interesting, can’t wait to read it! ❤

I really hope I'll manage since college has been the absolute worst lately 😦
Same here, even though it's already out, I haven't had the time to read it, but I'm dying to. Have you read it? The covers are absolutely gorgeous this year, I don't think we've ever been blessed like this before.
I can't wait to read them and I hope you enjoy lots of them! xx

There are some amazing books on here. Granted a lot of them I haven’t heard of before but if the covers are anything to go by (and I’ll admit I tend to be very swayed by gorgeous covers) there’ll be a lot of books being added to my TBR list soon! 😀
I really hope you enjoy Enchantee, I managed to get my hands on an e-ARC to and I actually quite enjoyed it. I found it a little slow at first but that could have been the fact that I tried reading it while I was in the middle of a massive slump (lesson learnt for the future).
I am beyond excited for The Priory of the Orange Tree and Wicked Saints, both sound amazing and I really hope you all the books on this list when you get around to them.
Great post, and happy reading. 🙂 ❤

My radar for beautiful covers makes me want to get all of these, I’m so bad at resisting beautiful covers :((((
I’ve got an e-ARC of Enchantee as well, but couldn’t manage to read it before the release because of the exams 😦 and also because I’ve heard some mixed things about it that made me doubt whether I should read it soon or not. I have a hate-love relationship with slow books.
Can’t wait to read Wicked Saints, I’m on the blog tour for that book, so I should read it soon! ❤
Thank you very much! Same goes to you, Beth! ❤

Oh yeah it is a slow read, and if you’re not into that Enchantee may not be the best book. Maybe wait until you’re in the mood for a slower story and give it a try then. It’s still a good book, and maybe knowing about the pace going in will help you enjoy it more.
        That’s all right, and thanks. 🙂 ❤

i’m especially excited for the priory of the orange tree, i hope it will remind me why i love fantasy!

    • Marta says:

same and yesss! I need to be reminded why I love fantasy because it takes me soooo long to get into fantasy books because I have this fear that they will be too tedious or something. And that’s sad because I end up enjoying them most of the time.
