Matching Books (Friendships) with my Blogging Friends

friendsbrr.png

Hey, lovelies! So, this post is inspired by Malanie‘s tag (such a great idea, Mal, you rock!), on which I was tagged by Marie, thank you again!!! I’m going to be a bit more free with this post and just choose some blogging friends and match them with books and bookish stuff as well.

So, without further ado… Let’s get into the post!

It’s not a coincidence that I’m posting this today – it’s a friendship post on the birthday of my good buddy-buddy, Marie @ Drizzle And Hurricane Books – go wish her happy birthday, please!! Fill her day with good wishes and love because she deserves all of it.

Happy Birthday, love! I hope you’re having an amazing day filled with lots of gifts and positive energy, you ABSOLUTELY DESERVE IT! (I hope you don’t think I forgot about your birthday, I’ve been thinking about doing this post on your birthday as an appreciation gift since forever)

Now, Marie’s bookish taste reflects the softness of her marshmallow heart, lots of contemporary, she loves friendship-themed books that deal with important subjects and she LOOOOOVES a happy ending.

Also, our friendship reminds me the most of Nina & Inej from Six of Crows because of how supporting Marie is of me, how I know that I’ll always have her by my side and how I know that if we ever met in real life, we’d totally spend a good period of time getting chocolate, books and croissants.

Kat‘s bookish taste is very diverse, if you’re asking me, she has favorites across many genres and that’s why she’s so great at recommending books because you can ask her a specific genre and she’ll come up with a list of her favorite books from that genre.

Our friendship is probably more formed of two Lara Jeans, actually, but I think Gogo and Lara Jean would work somewhat okay if we take the whole Josh thing out of the picture. Because I can see myself getting into trouble and Kat helping me solve it with her amazing ideas, she’s a genius and I love her.

Ioana is my Romanian buddy with whom I can rant relentless about how much our country sucks and how we want to create a new colony with books and dragons. Her bookish style is made up of fantasy books, everything magical & lots of dragons is her trade-mark basically.

(Also, her birthday was on 12th October, so you can wish her a belated happy birthday as well. Give her blog lots of love and support!)

OKAAAY, but Ioana and I are both smol hobbits, I instantly felt close to her because we’re from the same country and I feel like we have a bigger understanding of one another because of that, besides that, Ioana is one of the few people who can cheer me up when I’m in one of my moods. I’ll trust her to take me to Mordor safely and keep me in high moods, while she befriends all the dragons and ents.

I might do another part at some point because I really enjoyed doing this post, it almost felt like doing mood bookish boards for my friends. I also loved associating my friendships with book friendships (even though it was a bit hard, why aren’t friendships better represented in books???? or am I reading the wrong books? I want answers!)

Anyway, happy birthday again to my ray of sunshine, Marie!! Don’t forget to check out all her posts and give her some love.

What are some of your favorite bookish friendships?

From the three bloggers I mentioned, which one has a bookish taste closest to you?

I love this post Marta, and you picked some amazing books for all three bloggers. I actually picked up Morgan Matson’s books and I’ll Give You the Sun because of Marie, so those are perfect picks for her, and Kat is definitely a diverse reader but I do associate her with the Red Rising trilogy just because we’ve spoke about it a fair bit already.
Great post, and great picks too. I’ll likely be reading some of the books you’ve featured which I haven’t gotten around to already. 🙂 ❤️

Thank you very much, Beth! ❤
Morgan Matson is so Marie and Kat, I'm trying to get on the wagon, but so far I've only read Since You've Been Gone and adored it. I've become interested in Red Rising because it's one of Kat's favorite books, I didn't have it on my radar before because I don't feel like it's my usual go-to book, but I'll try it because it seems interesting.
      You're kind as always! ❤

Since You’ve Been Gone is good but my favourite by Morgan Matson is Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour (closely followed by Second Chance Summer and Save the Date) so I’d recommend that one. Red Rising is another I’d recommend, even if it’s not your usual thing there’s not really anything else like it so it’s worth picking up for that alone. 🙂

My favorite bookish friendship is Martha and Ivy, from The Changeling, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. They’re the most adorable little girls with the wildest imaginations that grow with them. They perform their own magical plays in the forest, and they make up a chant to keep from becoming boring grown-ups. Martha is shy and cries easily, but Ivy helps her break out of her shell. And Martha stands up for Ivy when people say bad things about her family. I wish I’d had an Ivy when I was 7, and 10, and 13.

That sounds like a very nice bookish friendship, I love those introvert/extrovert friendships where one helps the other one come out of their shell. I wish I had a Ivy, hahaha!

Your blogging friends sound pretty amazing, too. I can see you and Ioana have a similar style. I was actually inspired by your use of floral/nature art as section breaks. I decided to do something similar in my own recent Halloween posts, but with Jack-o-Lanterns and creepy stone faces.

Thank you for sharing these blogs!

I actually had more books lined up for each of you, but the aesthetics of the post wouldn’t have been the best if I mentioned more :-/

This is the most adorable post and I love it so freaking much! I adore that you compared our friendship to TATBILB because I adore it and I do read pretty much close to anything, so thank you for pointing that out and AAAAH I just adore everything about this, especially that you picked the day of Marie’s birthday to post it. You are the best! May our bookish friendships last forevermore ❤

I'm kind of mad at myself for not posting anything on your birthday, I never got the idea until now, but next year I'm totally going to do something Kat-themed. I'm sure our bookish friendship will last for a loooong, loooong time, hopefully forever ❤
      love you!

I’M SUPER LATE TO THIS POST BUT I WANTED TO COMMENT PROPERLY SO HERE I AM a month late but i brought chocolate so it’s ok right right!!! ALSO I LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!

So. I’ve never watched or read LOTR but I SO AGREE!! That is our friendship spot on we’re tiny hobbits from the same village that would just embark on magical adventures together because we’re bored and we want to save the world! And OF COURSE I WOULD BEFRIEND ALL THE DRAGONS FOR YOU!!! the quest would be over so fast not because of the vultures but because I tamed this one dragon and it would smite all of your enemies and then take us to destroy the ring and back again by dinner when we could eat cake since we’re such amazing problem solving Libras. Obviously.

And I would take you on the journey to Mordor too because you’re a smart cookie and you know your Tolkien stuff so basically we’d survive and be victorious instantly.

Also I could use the dragon to burn all the people that annoy you afterwards. True friendship ❤ !!
