Valentine Book Tag

img_20180125_162450

Hello, everyone! I’m back from the exam pit and I can finally write posts again *yay*, I also responded to the comments I received while I was on hiatus (I hope I didn’t miss anyone, know that I didn’t do it intentionally if it happened) and I want to thank you for being so supportive. I appreciated all your kind comments and they really kept me going!

This great tag was created by Taiwo @Stuffed Shelves, who is an amazing blogger, you should totally check her blog if you haven’t already! She’s also the person who tagged me and I thought it would be fitting to do it since Valentine’s Day is coming up! Also, the graphic above is made by her and it’s really lovely, isn’t it?

QUESTIONS

1. What book(s) have you been given as a gift that you loved?

thg.jpg

My mom and my aunt got me The Hunger Games series for my birthday and it was the best thing ever. I remember having watched the first movie and I was going with my friends at the cinema to see Catching Fire and I just wanted to read the books before I did it – boom, they did it and I’ve read the whole series in two days. I adored them so much, I need to reread it soon because some people have been talking about Katniss being asexual and now I have to return to those books because YES!

2. What book(s) would you like to give as a gift to someone else?

30339479

I would really love to give someone You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone as a gift, I’ve been thinking of buying one for my best friend, so who knows? I just might do it for Valentine’s Day, hmm.

3. If you could gift a random person any bookish item, what would it be?

I’m not sure, maybe candles? Everybody likes candles, right? I don’t own any of the bookish candles I keep on seeing on Twitter and I would really love one because they look amazing. So, yap, I would gift that to someone.

4. If you could gift a random person any non-bookish item, what would it be?

If it’s a not a bookish item, then it gotta go. Sorry. I’m not the one making the rules.

Probably something related to movies or tv shows because I’m a huge nerd and I refuse to gift anything, but nerdish things!

5. What do you say when a person gives you a gift you don’t like?

Well, I thank them because I’m not awful. I try to look as happy as I can (I’m very bad at faking my facial expressions, I’m the worst). And the gift usually ends up somewhere in my house while I ignore its existence forever.

6. Mention a book based around Valentine’s Day.

I can’t think of any. I really tried, but instead of this, I will just list my favourite couples, so you can read those books on Valentine’s Day and squel about the otp feels.

7. Mention any two tips for blogging as a gift to other bloggers and to those who may want to start a blog.

Keep interacting with other bloggers, be dedicated to your blog and posting and try to schedule your posts ahead because it’s going to help you a lot!!

8. Link to some posts by other bloggers that you loved or were very helpful.

My bookish soulmate, Marie recently wrote a post about her book buying habits and it was fabulous as ever (x) – also you can check her whole blog while you’re at it because I love all her posts.

My little bean, Ioana, wrote a post about 2018 releases to feed our TBR (she might be smol, but she’s evil, making our TBR pile even bigger with her suggestions) – (x)

My pure name twin, Marta, wrote a post about her 2018 goals and her bookish achievements in 2017 – (x)

Larissa wrote a very important post about selling ARCs – (x)

Tiffany wrote a very nice post about the struggle of not knowing your HP house (I can’t say I relate since I’m so Ravenclaw that it hurts, but the post is still amazing) – (x)

Lara wrote such a great, very positive post about why she loves blogging – (x)

Kat wrote a post about her WIP and it’s seriosly goals (also, guess who’s going to start reading it today???) – (x)

Rachel wrote a great wrap-up post that included complaining about Houston and amazing books (x)

Ugh, Achilles/Patroclus <33. That book made me SOB. Hmm, so many choices for pairings. Two favorites right now are Gansey/Blue from The Raven Cycle, and Miel/Sam from When The Moon Was Ours… And it's not…explicitly…canon, but Grantaire and Enjolras is my favorite unrequited romance, probably.

OMG, I am so terrible at faking facial expressions as well. Everyone always tells me I am an open book or that I look terrified, even though I am trying so well to hide it haha so, if you could see me now, you’d probably find me looking like a bundle of nerves but with a wild giggle because you said you’d read Arcadia. I always die a little bit inside, because I am afraid I should be mortified about what I wrote, but at the same time I know it’s not complete nonesense either. I even like parts myself and love some of the characters for sure. I have a complicated relationship with my WIP. xD Thanks so much for taking the time to read it though and also for linking back to my post about it!

HAHAHA! People always tell me I look terrified whenever I’m doing something new – basically adulting – and sometimes I’m not even that terrified, but I guess the terrified expression is stuck on my face forever now.
I will read Arcadia, I said I will read it and I will! I even clicked the Pinterest link to get myself in the right atmosphere for it. But I understand what you mean, I haven’t written anything serious in a while now, but whenever I did – I half loved and half hated it because ugh, I’m so proud I wrote something, but also it’s so horrible and no one will like it. YAP.

SAME! That expression won’t go away now. It’s engraved on our faces. I also don’t always feel that terrified either, but what can ya do?
No rush! But I expect DMs when you do read it hahaha

I also loved To All the Boys I've Loved Before (I'd love to re-read the books, but I have yet to read the third book) and I can't wait to pick up The Song of Achilles! *º*
And thank you so much for mentioning me, you're the sweetest ^^

Ahhh, you really need to read the third book because it's amazing (and a little bittersweet, but still amazing). You haven't read TSOA yet?? This has to change very soon, also you have to DM me with your reactions when you read it.
      No problem!! ❤

Thanks for mentioning me Marta!! I’m so sorry for the late reply. YMMWIG is very high on my TBR and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned with OTPs but from the comments, The Song of Achilles should go much higher on my TBR! Also, thanks for linking to the posts by some bloggers that you liked. I’ll definitely go check them out!💕

I AM GLAD SOMEONE AROUND HERE RECOGNISES MY EVILNESS! yes. i am vicious. fear me mortals.
HA nerdy things are the best thing to gift…. mostly because I am the actual worst at gift giving? I am so confused please help. I just go safe and nerdy. That’s why I tell people not to buy me anything because I would feel bad and then I would obviously HAVE to buy them something because I AM AGRESSIVLY NICE and afsjjakal. I fall into a pit of despair. I just get a mug. If I ever buy anyone something there’s a 99% chance it’s a mug. A dope mug might I add I take my mugs seriously but a mug nonetheless.
AND HAPPY GALENTINE’S DAY TO YOU MY VERY BEST INTERNET GAL FRIEND. YOU ROCK ❤️!!

YES, the most vicious creature in the world!! (she’s actually the cutest creature in the world, everyone. Ioanaaa, you’re not seeing this)
Mugs are actually very cute, especially if they are the right kinds of mugs!!! But I’ve been told that it’s very difficult to buy gifts for me (which probably translates in ‘all you want is books and I’m a pagan when it comes to books, so I didn’t know what to buy’) Happy belated galentine’s day to my little bean, the most adorable creature in the entire world!!! Love you very much! ❤ ❤
