Currently Reading Book Tag

Let’s see the questions that are related to my reading routine. You’ll want to read it if you want to see how chaotic I get when I’m reading.

 

1. HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU USUALLY READ AT ONCE?

It depends. I usually only read a book at once, you can see me having many books on my currently-reading shelf on GR, but usually my full attention is on one of those books. The others are just started and I’ve lost my interest in the meantime or something like this.

 

2. IF YOU’RE READING MORE THAN ONE BOOK AT A TIME, HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHEN TO SWITCH BOOKS?

Like I’ve said before, it’s a matter of which one grips my interest the most. I might start by reading 2-3 books at once and then one of them (depends on which one I enjoy the most) will have my entire attention.

 

3. DO YOU EVER SWITCH BOOKMARKS WHILE YOU’RE PARTWAY THROUGH A BOOK?

Yeah, it happens. I might not find my bookmark and get another one or something like this. I’m not very careful with my bookmarks, to be honest. I’ve lost at least two. Once, I forgot one of them in a book from library (but I got it back, yaaay!).

 

4. WHERE DO YOU KEEP THE BOOK(S) YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?

Near my bed. Usually on a desk or even somewhere on my pillow. I’ve been known to fall asleep next to books because they are my only love and you have to keep your love close. HAHAHAHAHA. I say such idiotic stuff and then I wonder why I am still single.

 

5. WHAT TIME OF DAY DO YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME READING?

I spend my every waking hour reading or thinking about reading. It’s not a drill. It’s been taking over my life for years now. It’s real. I think everyone is worried about me by this point. But my reading is the most productive during nighttime because I’m a night owl and I love to stay up late (3 a.m. – 4 a.m.) to read.

 

6. HOW LONG DO YOU TYPICALLY READ IN ONE SETTING?

It depends. If I love the book very much and it’s fast-paced, I’ll read it in one sitting. But sometimes, huge books or books that are from genres I don’t usually reach for (like high fantasy) will take longer and I will read around 50 pages at a time.

 

7. DO YOU READ HARDBACKS WITH THE DUST JACKET ON OR OFF?

Again, it depends on the situation and on my mood. Sometimes, I feel like the dust jacket is getting in my way and I’ll take it off, sometimes I enjoy the way the book looks with the dust jacket too much to take it off.

 

8. WHAT POSITION DO YOU MAINLY USE TO READ?

Laying in bed. All day. I’m such a lazy ass. I hate the fact that holding books all day isn’t considered a work-out and doesn’t help me becoming more fit. Because I’m struggling, you know? It should be taken seriously!

 

9. DO YOU TAKE THE BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING WITH YOU EVERYWHERE?

Not everywhere. I take it everywhere I’m going while I’m inside. But not outside because I don’t trust people around my books and I don’t want to damage them in any way.

 

10. HOW OFTEN DO YOU UPDATE YOUR GOODREADS PROGRESS ON THE BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?

Usually three – four times, I only do it more frequently if I have a lot of feelings.
