Hello, everyone! This is a first on my blog, this is my first interview with an author, I hope you like this and get to know more about cheyenne raine. I’ve reviewed her poetry collections a while ago on my blog, you can check my review here.
Let’s get into the questions, shall we?
Q1: Tell me a few fun facts about yourself.
A1 :
– i think dragons are the most amazing creatures.
– i can’t sleep with a pillow! so it’s just the bed and blankets for me!
– i love to use cheesy pick up lines to make my friends laugh.
Q2: Do you have any literary sources of inspiration? And if so, what are those?
A2: i loooooove lord of the rings. it’s poetic, it has friendship, love, adventure, loss, strength and so many beautiful parts to it. the books leave me in awe! Tolkien is amazing. that has been one of my biggest inspirations in writing. to flow and move like his series of books.
Q3: I’ve noticed you never use capital letters and I was wondering if you could explain why.
A3: i don’t capitalize my letters because i like to remind myself that i am very small and this world is very big. many events have further encouraged me to leave my words lowercase, and, i think it is a lovely journey! i like leaving my work in small moments.
Q4: How is the writing process for you? Is it something very organised or do you just go with the flow?
A4: i am hesitant to say that writing comes easy. but, it does. my mind is always spinning with words and thoughts! i’m a curious person and it shows in my work, when the details or ideas come up. i can sense my awe and curiosity at every piece of my writing.
Q5: Do you have any advice for other writers?
A5: just write. don’t worry about the other voices that surround you. write for yourself. be authentic. and, when you are ready, share your work, you never know who’s life you might touch when you give a little piece of yourself to the world.
Q6: Do you have any future projects in your mind? What would you liked to write after charcoal thunderstorms?
A6: right now i am working on creating a few crafty projects for my shop on my website, and i’ll hopefully have another book ready by feburary or march of next year. maybe summertime. i like the thought of a summer sun rising in a golden themed book!
Q7: What is the idea behind charcoal thunderstorms?
A7: there are so many ideas, but, mostly, it is inspired by the first poem: king of the wild things. knowing that someone could be grown up, but still have the curiosity of a child and the wilderness of a youthful heart. it is so good to be pure in intentions and light in laughter!
Q8: Do you get inspired from your every-day life?
A8: yes! always! my life is overflowing with inspiration. from the people i meet to the experiences i have.
Q9: What are some of your favourite books?
A9: the Hannibal lecter series, the lord of the rings series, bewilderments of the eyes by theresa sopko!
Q10: And lastly, what would you like your readers to know?
A10: that i am immensely grateful for the attention they put to my work. it is such a thrill to know my work is being read and is being purchased to live on someone’s shelf. my gratitude is beyond words!

Excellent interview, first or otherwise! So glad that you asked about her capitalization. I was wondering from the very beginning why it was like that. 🙂
Great questions!
