Hey, everyone! I was tagged by Angelica @The Book Cover Girls and Nessa @justbeingNessa, thank you very much, both of you for this! I adore Wonder Woman and I adore your blogs. Go check their blogs out if you haven’t already because they are gorgeous!
Fantasy Island: A book setting you want to escape to…
I think I can hear all of you sighing and thinking ‘omg, she will choose Middle Earth again, I know she will’. And I would under normal circumstances, but since I love you and I hate to be annoying, I’ll go for something else.
Both these universes seem phenomenal and I would love to escape in any of these. I can imagine myself doing Ravenclaw-ish stuff at Hogwarts and being besties with Hermione. And then there’s the PJATO universe that I would adore because gods and adventures (I think this one would be a bit more dangerous with all those easily-annoyed gods).
London: A hyped book that let you down…
As a college student and a ‘new adult’, I’ve been trying to familiarize myself with this genre, I tried to find some hidden gems in it. And both of these books were super hyped and I thought ‘okay, I will give them a chance even though their covers aren’t the best’. (I want to know what’s up with new adult books and those hyper-sexualized covers) But they were very disappointing, I find new adult love interests so insufferable and cocky all the time. Who falls for this kind of guys?
Steve Trevor: A book that has a beautiful cover and a great story (i.e. good personality)…
I think this book has one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen, it’s so breath-taking. I could marry this book cover. And the concept of the book is incredible. Check it out!
Lasso of Truth: A book you hated…
This is hands down, the worst book I’ve ever read. Forget all your hated, despised books. This is the worst thing you might read. I’ve read it back in 2014 when I was still innocent and not very prone to ranting about book, but this is my review, it’s full of complaints and gifs that have people wondering how stupid someone can be. The abuse represantion is awful, the relationship is based only on lust while it’s sold as something very deep, the heroine slut-shames other girls constantly and makes very stupid decisions. Just ugh.
Wonder Woman’s Shield: A book so sad that you need a shield…
I’m pretty positive this book made me cry a bit. It’s because of Andrew Minyard who is always trying to be such a tough cookie, but who has suffered so much and deserves better from this world. Please go read this series and if you haven’t like the first book, please try the second one because this series gets so much better!!
Ares: a villain that is scary, but you can’t seem to hate them…
Peter Pettigrew, he’s not even that scarry, he’s just so coward that it gets gross. I couldn’t hate him through the books, I just felt very sorry for him because I felt like he was very spineless and weak.
The Amazons: A book that you wish had more/better LGBT+ representation…
I will steal Angelica’s answer and go with SJM books, I feel like there are many books out there that need a better LGBT+ representation, but what’s worse than not having any representation, is trying it or putting it in your books just to please the fans. And that’s what I sometimes get the feeling some authors do.
Justice League: What superhero book friends do you tag…
I tag the following people :
- Laura @thebookcorps
- Katherine @paperbackdreamer
- Naty @naty’s bookshelf
- Rachel @pace, amore, libri
- Dani @Mousai Books
- Rain @thewitheringblog
- Marta @thebookmermaid
And anyone else who wants to do the tag, consider yourself tagged by me! Kisses and many, many hugs!
OKAY, SO I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS TAG. 😍😍 This looks fun AND YOUR POST!!! I AGREE WITH Peter Pettigrew, you know. Although he isn’t exactly the ‘villain’ I CAN’T SEEM TO HATE HIM EITHER. Although I DO HATE HIS FACE – god, he is soo ugly! 😂
O_O The RAVEN KING sounds very interestinga and the cover is SUPER INTRIGUING TOO. O_O I am DEFINITELY READING IT. Mainly because I NEED TO WALLOW and FOR THAT I NEED SOMETHING SAD. 😐😐
Again, THANKS FOR THE TAG, sweetie. ❤❤❤

For the new adults books, you said it. Some of them are nonsense and the covers are so sexualized, I can’t take it around. And the boys, no go area. I mean who likes guys like that.

Yeah, I don’t want understand why there aren’t any new adult books that have normal covers. It gives you such a wrong idea about this age period, lol! It’s really hard to find likeable love interests, some that aren’t alpha males or assholes or whatever.

Exactly…it all so cliché.

I honestly don’t know whether I’d rather be in the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson universe. Both have such amazing, magical settings!
Also, I nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award. If you’re interested in doing the tag that goes with it, I’ll leave you the link below. 🙂

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ll consider myself tagged for this one, I loved it so much!! And the Wonder Woman movie was amazingly good, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it ❤ I also wish there was a more diverse representation in SJM books, because they're actually good, but they kinda lack that. And I think with the villain I'd choose Bellatrix ?? I don't know, I do hate her, but it's more like me loving to hate her (if that makes sense haha)
If you ever make it to Hogwarts or the PJ universe, please take me with you ❤

I just tagged you, don’t worry, sweetie, I would never mind! I really need to rewatch Wonder Woman, it was such a beautiful, empowering movie!!!
Ah, I can’t forgive Bellatrix for what she did in the last book, I had a hate-love relationship with her until then, but after that I can’t forgive her. Definitely will do!!! ❤

This is such a fun and badass tag wooo! I might have to do it myself XD I keep hearing the most amazing things about The Foxhole Court and I’ve actually purchased the eBooks recently—I just haven’t found the time to read them yet! And I’m not sure if I’m ready for the emotional trauma that these books will put me through 😂

Please do it, Jackie! If you want, I could tag you in this one! ❤ The Foxhole Court is pretty triggering, it has a lot of violence and sexual abuse and more things. It can be a bit tiring because your faves just get tortured and you keep wondering when will they ever be happy. So, definitely read it when you feel like you're up to the suffering. 🙂
